CTIP Project

I have a lot to think about next week while I am in Austin. In conjunction with the excellent team at TV 13, I will be pushing some of my creative buttons for my CTIP project (thanks goodness).

I will be writing vingnettes (sp?) for my Native American Experience course. These will be produced similar to fillers between progams (something I did in my past life at TV 13). Since we will be using broadcast (HD) equipment these will also be shown on the air. At the meeting yesterday, it was also asked if perhaps another station could air them. My goal is to make them so that they could be universally shared on-line, broadcast and of course with my students.

The tricky part will be to keep these bad boys to less than three minutes. My first ideas include the following topics (some are broader than others): Identity, Oral Tradition, Snowshoeing, Sugar Bush, Cultural Persistence (i.e. pow wows), and Wild Ricing. We are going to start with six and if it works out well, we might do more. Here's hoping.
