July CTIP Update

After the big flurry of activity kicking off CTIP in June, July was a bit calmer. However, CTIP activities continued, and I don't want to let July pass without providing a brief update to the blog:
  • Faculty cohort members submitted their fall 2009 course technology implementation plans. Members are taking on a wide variety of projects, including creating new online courses, using wikis, web conferencing software, and clickers, and creating a multimedia DVD-ROM. Stay tuned to the blog for periodic updates on projects.
  • The second monthly ELI webinar, "Global Cyberbridges" was held on July 20. Three faculty members, including two from the CTIP cohort, participated in the group viewing.
  • Cohort members Carolyn Lowe and Jim Zeigler, along with Kevin Lowe, led a workshop about Second Life on July 24. Several faculty members, a GTA, and yours truly got hands-on experience in the virtual world.

Coming up next: Five of the cohort members and I will be traveling to San Jose next month for the MERLOT International Conference, which runs from 8/13 - 8/16. The blog should see some action during that time, as we plan for NMU's conference attendees blog about what they are learning about and how it might (or might not) apply at NMU.
